Faculty of Science and Arts
On behalf of the Faculty of Science and Arts, I would like to welcome you to the faculty website. Home to seven departments in basic sciences and humanities and a hub for general courses, it is the first indispensable crossroad for every student at the university. Stemming from our belief in the crucial role that the faculty undertakes in setting the foundation for our students, we strive to meet the demands of our students by providing them with the necessary information concerning the faculty programs, departments, courses, faculty members, venues and news.
With 120 faculty members, a team of competent lecturers, lab supervisors, technicians, and administrative staff, we serve the 2020 bachelor students and 340 graduate students majoring in the various programs offered by faculty departments along with the 36675 students registered in the general courses offered by the faculty this semester.
In his 7th discussion paper, His Majesty King Abdullah II called for investing in the potentials of the young generation, promoting their creativity and boosting their skills. He highlighted the urgency for transforming and reforming education to keep pace with the elite international academic institutions. In keeping with the directives of his majesty and the university’s vision, the faculty has persistently worked towards providing the infrastructure and resources for students’ development and upgraded the curricula to keep track of the new scientific innovations. While JUST has been a pioneer in Jordan in the application of e-learning, the faculty has recently applied integrative approaches to learning such as blended learning and project-based learning to open the door for students to participate in creating knowledge in different learning settings.
The faculty is working towards obtaining international accreditation. This translates into perfecting the performance of our staff, services and courses offered and involving students as learning partners rather than being mere recipients of knowledge. New labs have been created, technical assistance programs (TAPs) launched and exchange programs activated. Advisory boards from key local institutions and entrepreneurs have been established as partners to link our ILOs with the requirements of the job market. We seek to empower our students to meet the challenges that they may encounter in their future as alumni. And indeed we take pride in our alumni.
We seek to shape your repertoire of knowledge, our students, so that you can shape the world around you. Our joint efforts are put at your service.
Should you need information about the faculty, please consult our website as we will put updated information at your disposal.
