The Faculty has a long and established history in dental education and training; both locally and regionally, and has recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Since its opening in 1986, this Faculty has maintained a progressive and steady strategy of improving the quality of teaching and clinical training of both undergraduate and postgraduate dental students.

Our Faculty's vision is to be recognized regionally and internationally as a contemporary, innovative and vibrant centre of excellence in dental education, research and provision of oral health care to the local community.

The Faculty continually thrives to enhance and enrich the learning experience of our students. We aim to ensure that all our students are able to succeed, not only in their studies, but also in their future dental careers where continuing professional development and continuous improvement are in-line with evidence-based best practice.

The integration of dedicated, highly qualified academics and tutors with state-of-the-art facilities and equipments ensures an ideal modern dental teaching environment. Our teaching clinics are strategically distributed between the main campus of the university and the city of Irbid in order to facilitate the flow and diversity of patients.

We proudly host one of the most diverse communities of dental students from different Middle Eastern and Asian countries. We currently have a total of 1341 undergraduate and 51 postgraduate students, around one third of which are non-Jordanians. In addition to the Bachelor`s degree in dental surgery, our faculty provides high-standard postgraduate programs in the specialties of oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. Other postgraduate programs are also underway.

As we strongly believe in evidence-based dental practice, the Faculty supports research and innovation in dentistry and related disciplines and our academic staff members continuously contribute to the advancement in dental sciences by conducting leading research projects and publishing in top-ranked international peer-reviewed scientific journals.

As we recognize our pivotal role in the dental community, our faculty maintains strong and vibrant connections with the local community, its alumni and the profession in general.
